Alison Choi is a photographer based in Los Angeles. She graduated cum laude from Pomona College in May 2019 with a Bachelor of Arts in History. Her thesis project, which explored the history of Korean-owned wig and beauty shops in African American communities, won the Merle Woo Senior Thesis Prize in Asian American Studies and the Toni Clark Prize in Gender and Women’s Studies.

A third-generation Korean American born and raised in Hong Kong, she brings her unique perspective to her exploratory work of immigrant histories and realities in/between Asia and the United States.

In addition to her photography projects, Alison works as an analyst at the media agency Hearts & Science, a subsidiary of Omnicom Media Group. She works on the M&E Marketing Science team for AT&T.
